Matte Black! But it cost the same as an AK550.

I'm not sure why you'd need traction control on a bike with like 30hp. It would probably have trouble spinning the tire on an oil slick.

Only 30Hp from 400cc isn't very impressive. Piaggio's 330cc was putting out that and more!
And, traction control came in handy a couple of times on the Piaggio. Nothing too serious but it was there when needed.

That's why Piaggio came out with the BV400s. They're no substitution for cubic centimeters. lol The older burgman 400 had more power, the newer ones have less due to emissions.

I wouldn't get all caught up in H.P. numbers. Not very many are drag racing their scooters. With a CVT, torque delivery is more important, as is comfort, storage, etc.

When Pete had a Burgman 400, I found it to be one of the mot nimble mid sized scooters. I always wished it had the B650 engine in it's body. I found it easier to move around in the twisties than the B650.

Right from the get-go, Suzuki got it right with the Burgy AN400. I still find it to be the best fitting maxi-scooter for me. I agree with you Maggie ... a little more power would make it darn near perfect.

Me, I'm on the other side of the fence. I thought Yamaha got it right with its Majesty. Sure did love that scoot!

I agree with Lou. The Majesty did everything well, and didn't feel like a land barge.

As a former owner of the B650, B400, Silverwing, I thought that the B400 was the best all around single cylinder scooter around. It just got pricier due to the weak dollar. I haven't tried the new B400, but it's way overpriced. The silverwing was a good scooter with not enough storage. The B650 was just plain heavy and not good near freezing because of the transmission. The Silverwing was the best all around CVT scooter for multiple cylinders. I wish Honda USA would bring in their great scooters like the Integra, X-ADV, Forza.
For the price now a days, the Best buy is the Piaggio BV350 and the Yamaha XMAX. Too bad the XMAX has different service intervals in the US. My BV350 has 6000 mile service intervals. The XMAX has the same service intervals in Europe as the BV, but 4000 miles in the US. I'm intrigued by the AK550.
