I guess winter is here for good, now.  Or at least until next April.  The mountains are fully covered in snow and it was 0˚F here this morning.  After our mens Bible study this morning, the sun was just coming up over the mountains, so I went out on the deck of the building and took this shot.  It was a nice sunrise, featuring Pioneer Peak on the right.  Rises 6600 from sea level.  I shot with my iPhone 11.

We just got back from a scoot ride around the development. It was 79*, warm gentle breeze, no bugs. No mountains within a couple hundred of miles, though, and barely above sea level. We'll have to suffer until April I guess.

Yeah, Don, pretty as it is, I could also happily exist without it.  Outside of it being wet, I don’t mind the rain.  It falls, the ground gets wet and then it run off or just dries up.  Snow falls and stays on the ground, and then I have to deal with it.  Besides that, when it snows, it’s cold!!

I look at the coming of winter in a different way.  It is a season you live with or move to where it isn't snowy.  I like the snow because I've learned to use it for winter play time through skiing.  If we don't use the seasons it makes them longer.  When on a cruise that stopped in Barbados, I commented on the great weather to a shop operator.  He could only complain about the heat.  "Yes ... 80°F every single day ....."  And he wasn't happy about it.  Maybe he would like some snowy weather so he could go skiing.

Great picture Greg.

When you live in an area like we do that gets an average snowfall of over 120", You can't DO enough skiing or snowmobiling to like winter. Besides, even if I enjoyed the winter, these old bones don't. That being said, there is something terribly wrong seeing palm trees with Christmas lights. The Christmas season just doesn't seem right without snow.

Well, as a rule I don't start this early. I mean we've not even had Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday (all seasonal greats to look forward to) but, BAH-HUMBUG!

Glad you have that surgery over-with Cathy.  Now retirements begins in earnest.  Well in a few weeks at least.

And speaking of winter.  We had an early snowfall this afternoon ..... 4 inches worth.  Below zero °C tonight but by the weekend we will be pushing the 50 -60°F range.  But for now I can get the shovel muscles working !!!

Thanks Mike,  weather here in Chicago has been around 70 and sunny.  We had our daughter and SILs dog Dallas over today she had surgery on Tuesday. Here we are enjoying the weather on the porch.

Again with the side photo.
Again with the save!

Winter has been put on hold in Nova Scotia for this weekend.
Now, Saturday afternoon near 3 pm we have 65F on a mostly sunny day.  Tomorrow is to be much the same.   The battery is back in the Silverwing and ready for an afternoon short ride.  It ain't over til it's over !!!  But the sun is low so in your eyes .

Your weather is great weather for post op healing Cathy !

BTW ... that sure looks like the grin of a newly-retired person.

Thanks Greg,

The summer was too hot, and the fall has been wet and cold.  Yesterday was like the first day of the riding season all over again and; though a short ride, it was a fun time.  It was at 5pm in heavy traffic ... so it was fun.  This week is supposed to be more summer like and I see the potential for some lunch runs with Judy.
