Last week I took a four day trip to North Georgia and North Carolina.  On one of those days I was able to get together with EZ Mark and his wife Dawn who where spending a week in the area.

Headed out of Blue Ridge, GA early in the morning following Steve.

We took a break in Andrews, NC.

We met up with Mark and Dawn at Deal's Gap.

.

After talking a bit we rode 28 to Franklin.  I didn't get any pics of that part of the ride but 28 is a fantastic road!

Lunch was at the Sunset Restaurant in Franklin.

After lunch we rode Wayah Road. I got my act together and took some pics.

Wayah road is a long road that changes in character several times. The only constant is that the whole thing has a lot of CURVES!!

We came up behind this lady and her dog riding along.

They soon pulled off and we picked up the pace.  I took some more over the shoulder shots.

A couple of more shots of Wayah RD.

.

We stopped and took a break at the end of Wayah Road.

I don't know who this strange looking guy is

We talked for a while and I walked around trying to get some good shots.

The weather was great and so was the riding.  Mark made the comment "I forgot just how much fun this is!" sometime during the day.

Eventually we decided it was getting late and we still had a long way to go. Steve decided to head home. I wanted to show Mark and Dawn some interesting roads on the way to Deal's Gap.

.

.

I blasted ahead and set up for these next few shots.

Nice pics Winn,  Joan is 100% spot on.  Bob and I rode Wayah Road last year on Eric’s (Virginian) recommendation.  Great road for sure.

We continued on to Deal's Gap.

.

.

I talked with Mark and Dawn for a while. Pretty good crowd for mid week.

Eventually we had to say goodbye and head off so we could get to our destinations before dark.

Overall it was a great day and one I hope to repeat in the not too distant future.

This was just one of four days of riding for me.  If you want to see the other three days you can read my ride report here: https://advrider.com/f/threads/full-throttle-touring-150-through-the-rocket-city.647784/page-186#post-40833981

One more pic as a teaser:

Awesome day riding with Win and Steve again. I ground a lot of metal off my centerstand that day.
Dawn saw a nice outdoor dining place when Win was showing us one of those backroads.
Tapoco Lodge on the river on US-129, near Deal's Gap.
We went back the next day. Great food if a bit pricey.
Thanks again Win.

My thanks, too, for sharing the pictures and story of the ride.  These posts make you feel part of the adventure.

Were the roads as good as they appear?  All the pictures are great shots, but the teaser at the last was something else.

One of my favorite roads is the other side of the Dragon, 28.  From the store really all the way to Franklin is so much fun.

We've stayed at Tapoco Lodge, very good food and hospitality.

Roads were better than they looked....  Don't think you would care fort our roads then.  Ours keep you awake.   A couple of bikers with American flags said this
when at Peggy's Cove a few years ago ,,, when I asked how they liked our roads.  They said they keep you awake.

The road in your pictures looked like a dream !!
