Interesting photos, the before and after.  We visited Mt. St. Helens back in the early 90ís one time.  You just cannot imagine the magnitude of what happened there unless you see it in person.  I expect that by now itís all been grown over with trees and vegetation, but when we saw it, it was still pretty bare.  Hard to believe that there was sufficient force to knock down all that timber, but we could see all those trees lying down.  And the lake was filled with trees floating in the water.  Mt. St. Helens is well worth the side trip if one is ever visiting in Washington State.

That's actually before and before picture.  Had I seen the dramatic difference in that short of time re how much the magna bulge grew, I would have been out of there!  Even the summit peak had shrunk in a short amount of time.
