Title: Another newbie Post by: Boo on November 09, 2020, 10:36:12 PM Hi from newbie, Boo. North East England to be precise. Current (retired) owner of a recently acquired 2011 Silverwing FJS 600 - Too soon to say if it's a good buy but it looks promising
As happy as I am to be here, I am still mourning the recent sale of my beloved 1989 Honda CBR 1000f - T'was too heavy for me at 66 and if the truth be known, a little too fast. Hence it went on ebay and it now resides on the warmer South coast. A topbox and heated grips are also on order. (https://i.postimg.cc/p9xZqHSH/s-l160z0.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/p9xZqHSH) It has just occurred to me there has never been a time in my life I have not had a bike (notwithstanding my divorce!) A 1969 BSA Bantam Bushman was my first legal road bike and the only remaining motorbike now is my 1979 Yamaha IT125 (https://i.postimg.cc/d7Y7zRGM/20201012-195330.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/d7Y7zRGM) Well that's a little about me. Hopefully the photos have added a little colour to my introduction. I look forward to catching up with y'all soon. Rgds, Boo :scooter: Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: Clampett on November 10, 2020, 06:00:14 AM Welcome aboard.
The Swing (Silverwing) is a fantastic scooter. Congrats on being retired. That means you can ride more and post more pics, right? Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: Expat47 on November 10, 2020, 07:34:20 AM Welcome from Athens, Greece.
Ah.. North East England... Isn't that known as Scotland? :dunno: Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: sailingskier on November 10, 2020, 01:49:20 PM Boo,
welcome from Nova Scotia. My first and only bike is a Silverwing and that purchase was one of my best. You will have no regrets. Mike Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: sonuvabug on November 10, 2020, 04:58:03 PM Welcome aboard the board Boo.

Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: Boo on November 11, 2020, 09:17:02 AM Thank you for the warm welcome guys and also to Maggie for her valued assistance in setting up my account.
I must admit to being mightily impressed with my 'swing' (I was reluctant to call it a swing as the scooter I part exchanged for my swing was a Honda S-wing) My S-wing was a 125cc and although it was quite nippy with a healthy top speed it did not prepare me for the Silverwings awesome performance and not to mention comfort. I'm sold on its comfort factor let alone its performance. I can't wait for a break in the weather to ride up to my daughters house in Scotland. On the subject of comfort, only the other day whilst reading the Honda owner manual, I read about the adjustable back rest on the swing. I thought no way and quickly went out to the garage to check, and there they were, under the seat, two adjustment bolts! I quickly backed them off and sure enough I was able to slide the back rest back an inch or two. What a difference that extra inch or two made. See said my wife ... :dunno: Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: klaviator on November 11, 2020, 02:04:11 PM Welcome from Alabama!

1st, I really like the colors on the 1000f and its a great looking bike! 2nd, Enjoy the new ride! The same bike in the many different colours i.e red & white or blue & white etc, just did nothing for me.
Its only been gone a fortnight and I miss it already :violin: Title: Re: Another newbie Post by: redeye on November 14, 2020, 07:43:01 PM (https://i.imgur.com/Y70lpUw.jpg)
Love the 1989 Honda CBR 1000f, too. Nice find on your new-to-you Silverwing. I owned one for a couple years. |
